This toy is super cute and brightly colored! I measured it, and it’s 8 ½”L x 5 ½”W. It requires 3 AA batteries that are not included. All the pieces are chunky enough that they will not pose a choking hazard at all. Everything about the toy appears to be safe for little ones. No sharp edges and the battery compartment is secured with a screw.I love the carrot harvesting activity. There are 6 carrots that you can take out and insert. When you put a carrot in the slot it says various cute things like “I love carrots!”. There are also 8 shape pieces that you can put in each slot on the sides that also have different sayings as you insert each item. The side shapes are hollow with an open back. It’s okay that they are hollow, but I wish they had a solid back. I think the open backs make them a little harder for small hands to insert.There are 4 wide levers that have stars, rainbows, carrots and flowers on them that toggle down and up. When you push them in, you hear things like “Twinkle, twinkle a star is shining bright” which is cute. But, they are a little hard to push in and I think this will be a little frustrating for little ones to press.There is a also shape sorter drop in and lever that turns and drops the shape into a storage section behind barn doors that you can open. If you turn the lever too far, the shape sorter has to be manually moved a bit so you can drop another shape in. That feels like a bit of a design flaw. The design should probably allow the lever to only go as far as it needs to turn the shape sorter to exactly one position further. Not a major problem, but could be improved in future versions of the toy.I do like that you can store all the 3 loose shape sorting pieces behind the latched barn door. It’s a compact design that would work well for travel with several different activities for little ones between the ages of 1 and 3 to practice their fine motor skills. This toy feels durable enough to last for years of play. I included a short video to show how the toy actually works.
